Pinchgut Creek is located in the productive farming and grazing district of Dirnaseer, in Wiradjuri Country, on the southwest slopes of New South Wales. The property is roughly equidistant from the towns of Cootamundra, Temora and Junee. Writers stay in old, recently renovated shearers’ quarters, with very basic facilities. Ancient yellow box, grey box and red gum trees surround the quarters and line the creek. Extensive plantings of indigenous trees and shrubs along the intermittent waterway and on a nearby hilltop are helping restore the property’s ecological wellbeing. Residencies are available for two week periods in autumn and spring each year. Visitors must have their own transport.
